A mini cigar-fest for me today

I would have posted this in the "what you smoked today thread" but I wanted to post a few pics and have smoked quite a few so I thought it warranted it's own post.

Met with SeanP in Tunbridge wells where we smoked the Tatuaje RC184 (A Salamones which is quite hard to get a hold of- was a limited edition). It took us 3 hours to smoke this and I wouldn't consider myself a slow smoker at all- want to try the diademas now!




This was followed by a Camacho 1962 which was a good medium bodied smoke but not quite as great as the spicy, flavourful Camacho SLR Maduro which followed and were both gifts from Sean. Thanks again!

I Sean smoked the Carlos Tora?o Exodus Silver(?) which from my experience is an awesome smoke for a reasonable pricetag.

Then met with Big_T after Sean had to leave for a dinner. After some food I lit up a Partagas Serie P No.2. Moved on to a Camacho Negro. T has smoked an Opus X XXX and is now on an Alec Bradley Tempus. About an inch left on this Camacho and eyeing up a La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero Chisel to finish off the evening. This has all been paired with Talisker 10yo Single Malt.

So what were the smokes like?

The Tatuaje is definitely one to try! Slow burning smoked starting of mild and moving up to a medium as I smoked. The first couple of inches were quite uninteresting but that soon changed. Not a typical Tatuaje by any means but one to have no less. I am a fan of camacho, from those that I have smoked but I dont have much knowledge of them and haven't tried much of the range, so Sean provided me with the opportunity to try some more. The 1962 was medium bodied- had a sort of vegetable flavour to it- not necessarily a bad thing but it just seemed odd. The SLR that followed was a spice bomb and almost knocked mentor six on my empty stomach, great little robusto though- will keep my eye open for these!
The black camacho was a toro and enjoyable all the way through, very consistent, not much change- medium to full with a very dry woody flavour profile. My last smoke of the evening was the LFD Double ligero Chisel. Having smoked an LFD Airbender chisel before and loving the blend but not being sure on the vitola I and having smoked the double ligero blend and not being sure on that because of the too large ring gauge, I wasnt sure what to expect.

Answer: a great cigar. Although the cigar didn't change much from start to finish, this was not a problem because the flavour was great- billowing clouds of smoke and power. Forget Cain, for get all these straight ligero cigars that are more like blunt instruments- smoke one of these or an airbender where you get the flavour and the strength!

That sounds like a great day! Talisker is one of my favourite whiskys and I wouldn't really describe it as sweet when compared to something like Dalmore or Balvenie. I do have a bottle of the Talisker Distiller's Edition though and that is sweeter due to an extra couple of years iin a sherry cask.

I need to get hold of some good spicy cigars and try some pairings
