  • Favourite short smokes?

I love short smokes. I usually (almost always) smoke alone, and sometimes I don't really want to be puffing for hours, especially in the cold!

A short smoke is subjective, but for premium cigars I'd say around the 30-minute mark is good territory.

I've recently become a huge fan of the Arturo Fuente Hemingway Short Story. Excellent smoke. I had a few Upmann half coronas when starting out with cigars, but I think if I went back to them now, I'd find them a little too mild.

What are people's favourite shorter smokes?

San Cristobal El Principe and Ramon Allones Short Club Corona are fantastic cigars.

Defo agree with the RASCC, and all the others mentioned above, as being good smokes but they always last me way over 30 mins and sometimes up to an hour! Must be a slow smoker. The ones that I've got close around the 45 minute mark with are the ERDM demitasse and Montecristo number 5 and both very nice and full of flavour and a decent level of strength.

Hoyo Du Depute is a nice, rich short cigar too. And if you want even smaller There's the Du Maire. These are a bit less refined, but not harsh.

I think I may finally have this CAD under control...

I've still yet to try any Ramon Allones - RASS and RASCC are on the list!

Hoyo Epicure 2 was my first ever premium cigar, so a soft spot for them. Definitely give the Du Depute a try if they're recommended

Cuba does short smokes very well.

El Principe, RASCC, Party shorts and Monte Media are all excellent.

HUHC are hit and miss, when they’re on they’re excellent, I would say the same for RyJ petit royales.

At the “cheaper” end you’ve got RG panatelas extras, Quintero panatelas and Vegerous Mananitas (spelling).

Bottom end JLP petit cazadores are decent smokes with a few years down to smooth the edges. Party chicos I really enjoy for a quick 20 minute smoke.

The short Non Cubans which are bargain prices outside of the UK are AF Cubanitos, AVO puritos, Camacho I think Machiatos or something along those lines. Nudies Carlottas are a bit longer, around 45 minutes, my go to cheap and cheerful short smoke that isn’t a purito.

                    I've shortlisted two of each:

                    RASCC
                    Du Depute
                    El Principe
                    Partagas Short

Comes to £150 from JJ Fox! Just need to psych myself up that it's worth it for the research investment

One of my favourite short smokes is the Davidoff Winston Churchill Traveller Belicoso had quite a few of these and never a single bad one. Highly recommend for a short smoke!

I am quite partial to the AVO Classic Uvazian Puritos as a quick smoke.........
Also the Mitchellero Peru Petit Robusto, and of course the Inca Secret Blend Reserva D’Oro Stumpy Cigar, but not so quick at around 45-50mins!

HUHC with age is a nice more refined option. When 'fresh' (<12months old) I've always found them underwhelming/ variable.

HdM petit robusto...a classic. Du Depute and Du Maire... good sipping cigars.

Cohiba medio siglo - glorious with age.
