  • A reminder..

So I just wanted to share a recent experience and an example of why I have such admiration for the cigar smoking community.

I have come away with my family on holiday to Italy but unfortunately I had a hectic few weeks of work leading up to the trip and picked up a horrible cold that I can’t seem to shift and actually pulled a muscle in my chest from all the coughing! The law of sod comes to mind!

This, as you can imagine, has made me feel a little down as I wanted to relax with a few cigars on this trip but have abstained in order to help recover.

Where we are staying there are a number of terraced balconies and when I went out this evening what do I notice in the air.. that sweet smell of a cigar being puffed from next door. I do cheeky look over and make the acquaintance of a smoker of Cuban cigars for over 40 years who is also on holiday with his family. We get chatting about all things Cuban and how the market has changed and put the world to rights a little bit.

I walk away thanking the world of cigars again for being a way of having common ground with people from different walks of life.

About 20 minutes later the same chap leans of the fence and hands me Partagas Serie D N.4 and tells me to enjoy it ‘when I’m feeling better’.

It’s things like this that remind me that there are still very generous people in the world, there are plenty of adventures yet to be had and there are good folks to share a stick with!

There are so few of us in reality. I tend to smoke in my local. Never seen anyone else doing so. On holiday I've only stumbled across one other in the last 6 years. What a nice gesture.

    Hope you're recovered soon!

I think I may finally have this CAD under control...

There is something quite uplifting about the kindness of strangers. Wish there was more of it throughout the world

Always great when you stumble across another lover of the leaf.

Does anyone know where I might be able to sell my cigar collection? Am I allowed to say what I’ve got to sell, and also how much is my collection worth?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

It’s totally rubbish and sorry you have recently experienced the same. It was so annoying as I was so looking forward to it and had bought some sticks especially!
