Purchased a box of PD4 today, think it will be my last sadly. Seems like we are at a point where the price for standard production CCs is on par with Premium NCs… and I would rather spend on something that will consistently deliver, ie premium NCs… Anyone else feel the same?

Seriously though, did you have to spend considerably more on the D4s than you did before?

Price rises on the D4 and most other cigars are in the 6-10% range anyway, to be expected with this inflationary world we are in right now. The issue is nobody has stock, apparently supply is down to about 30-40% of what it was 6 months ago and by all accounts Cuba is in a bad place right now and its only getting worse.

We may well have to shift over to NCs more then Shaun for those reasons although I think other Central American and Caribbean countries have had some similar production problems too.

They all have problems recruiting and retaining skilled torcedors, its particularly acute in Cuba though, by the sound of it people cant even feed themselves on such a pittance they get paid so its no wonder they are all leaving.

I suppose this is the first time I’ve felt that I can get better value elsewhere… I know the big price increases relate to a relatively narrow range of CCs but I think compared to 18months ago the price of D4s is quite a bit more. This time last year I could find D4 for around 30% less than I can at the moment.
