I would go for the 10 year old smoked or 12 year old unsmoked Glenturret. Lovely rich smooth whisky. I asked to buy a bottle of the 12 but they had no more!
The Connie B was also a nice mild to medium as it goes. 2hr smoke for me. Very nice balanced blend. Aromatic with a slight sweetness. But too fat for me.
Good evening. Some fun characters. Looking forward to the next event!
Forgot to mention the Glenturret distillery has a Michelin star restaurant if that's your thing..--

Well not one to shy away from novelty! I've signed up for the next one lol https://www.cgarsltd.co.uk/cgars-jam...l-p-49770.html
Now I've learned the measures of the drink may not be so accurate as some places, so i'll be better prepared this time!

So there were 10 attending this one in the end at St.James St. One lady! The planned whisky rep didn't make it so Sam and Dante broke open 3 bottles of Stella dhu. A CGars bottling.
all 3 bottles were very good. My preference again the 2nd and 3rd that were timed with the thirds of the cigar, roughly. Nice rich smooth flavoursome drams. I was going to buy a bottle of the 15, but passed at 99£.
The cigar wasn't announced. They had opted for an early 2020 E2 Partagas. Which was also really nice. And kept me occupied for almost 3 hours. The tasting is scheduled from 7-9 but it was almost 10 before we were being politely encouraged to finish up.
Sam's a drinks guy and had decided on a tea based lovely cocktail as a palette cleanser, but it didn't last long...
Again the pours weren't measured. The atmosphere relaxed, the cigar and whisky intros were kept minimal. So they left things to the flow. I thought I was better prepared this time. But still ended with a slight hangover the next morning 😸
A bargain at 45£ these days IMO.

I'm wondering whether it's worth trying to organise a ukcf exclusive tasting. Can we get 10+ people interested?.--
