  • The way of the NUB?

OK I must confess until I joined UK Cigar Forum about 2 weeks ago I had never heard of a NUB!
Could one of you fine fellows please explain the attraction?
I?m assuming that the construction (stubby with wide girth) allows a lot of leaf (and therefore flavour) to be packed into a relatively short smoke, or am I missing the point?

    Cheers
    Rich

Its everything about them, the construction, the way the flavours hit you from the start,(they were originally created for this reason, to hit the sweet spot as soon as you start smoking it) the large ring gauge I could go on and on. Its also the whole Nub experience for me, I'm now a friend of the owner Sam Leccia, a great guy who had created a whole lifestyle around these cigars. I just love them!!!

Oh it also helps that they were rolled by jesus and moistened shut by Megan Foxs privates.

For me they are a very nice NC, they are a big ring gauge so you get plenty of smoke and flavour with each puff and last around 45 mins give or take so perfect for the shorter smoke. There is some marketing bumf about the size allowing you to hit the sweet spot straight away but for me they are just a really nice smoke, not complex but an honest reliable smoke. One of the nicest constructed NC i have ever had as well.

          Well summarised Lee & Jibjob.

I would have just said they are yummy, or something puerile like that.

But having said that, they are very yummy!

Now get Sam over here for another Nub/Cain event because I want to be his friend too.

Actually I'm very envious of those going to the current US Cain tour!

          Mmm custom rolls.

PS They're not really moistened shut by Megan Foxs privates, are they?
I've just gone and smelt my stash and theres not even a hint of mackerel.

Thanks Lee Nub looks like I got a reply from a real NUB fan.
I see the idea, straight into the sweet spot, nice.
I did not realise that NUB was just a brand name I thought it was a recognised cigar format.
What?s an average burn time for one of those babies?

For this reason I am going to try and source an affordable place to get me some.

              I hope this is real.

Burn time is 45 mins as Jib said, my record was 28 minutes but that isn't recommended lol. If you want a heads up , send me a pm

If you look back at my nub post, I have a Nub on there that Sam rolled for me with my name in the wrapper.

Thanks David you have just ruined a lovely image for me, I'm not smoking anything with the slightest hint of fish mitten!

How would you rate the different ones out there ?
For example, whats the difference between, say, the cameroon and the sungrown ?.
Can anyone give a small review of the whole brand.
                        Lee ? !

"If I might just step in here"

As someone who has recently tried this 'brand' for the first time, I feel uniquely qualified to offer an 'unbiased' opinion on these 'nice' cigars.

O.K. . . I've only smoked the one so far - so it's not a definitive answer - and for that reason. . . I've decided to let the others do the talking.

Firstly, let me draw your attention to the following comments in BOLD

Hmmn, hardly an objective or impartial view I fear - the man's a groupie for Gawds sake!

I see - err, thank you for that wildly enthusiastic praise!

'Nice NC' - a 'Nice smoke' - 'Not complex' - 'reliable' etc, etc.
All very commendable qualities, however, I feel it is my 'BOTL-y' duty to point out that there are 'other' cigars out there (ones which aren't strange stubby affairs), which will:

                            I quote.

"Transport you away on aromatic clouds of contented bliss"

                            They are called. . . Cubans (There. . . I said it!)

I wonder if this explains the 'funny' taste?
I'll let you know when I've smoked the other one.

Right, start the car, there's an 'ugly' mob heading this way. . .

Thanks Cat for your voice of reason on this matter! It was your recent post about NUBs that got me intrigued.
Obviously only one way to find out, I'm going to have to smoke one. Once I have indulged I will let you know what I think on the matter, but I have to say that my default position like you Cat is that Cuban is king.>>
