[QUOTE=richgirling;115566][COLOR=black][FONT=Verdana]Thanks Cat for your voice of reason on this matter!

Reason? From Catador? .... that's pushing the barriers of nonsense a bit innit Rich?

Lovely smokes NUBS IMHO .... but do prefer the torps best.
If you want to, you can.

You're too kind - it's my honour to be of service.

I await your assessment with interest - I would though, urge you to caution in your review - these 'Nub' lovers don't take kindly to criticism - I've had to go into hiding. . . . . .

Far be-it for me to disagree. . .

Well I suppose I am a groupie, but its only because when I tried them, I loved them so much that I decided I wanted to know everything I could about them that led me down the path to actually knowing Sam , and my involvement with spreading the word

Still Cat, I do appreciate your comments, and of course everyones tastes are different, I like to eat apple cores yet I don't like fish, nothing to do with cigars but a similar comparison

Great photos bud, as I said in an earlier post I'm very lucky that I have a custom rolled cigar. I have tried the Cain F and the Cain Nub F, both fantastic cigars

Thanks all for your balanced and unbiased opinions!
              Great pics Joe, thanks.
Going to be a little bit before I can order some NUB’s, my neighbour is looking out for some CUBAN cigars for me.
I had better see what he gets me first before I spend any more money or I may be asking Sam to roll me a NUB with decree absolute written in it!

I've just spent the last ten minutes trying to figure this out -

Anyhow, I'm back with 'Part Two' of my Nub experience.

After putting myself among the pigeons over the weekend by posting my thought on the Nub Cameroon, I thought I'd best get my finger out and smoke the 'Habano' before I dug myself any deeper into the s**t.
                So I just have.

I have to say, right from the outset, this was a different animal altogether.
The pre-light draw was firmer (which I prefer) and rich in salty chocolate/bean flavours. A great start.

"Dear God, was my hasty early assessment . . wrong?"
"Would I have to issue a grovelling apology - endure the 'cat-calls' of abuse and scorn from the Society of Nub lovers?"

Well. . . 'Yes' and 'No'.

'Yes', in as much as I think I understand the attraction of this brand a little better now - it has a very distinctive flavour profile. Unmistakably so.

And 'No' in as much as it isn't really for 'me' (as in - 'It's not you . . Nub . . it's me!). Sorry.

If I can put it this way, both Nubs reminded me a little of the first time I ate a 'Hershey's' chocolate bar. (American chocolate - or so it said on the wrapper)
Now, don't get me wrong I'm not 'dissing' (street slang - for any oldies who might be wondering) 'Hershey's' as a brand, it's just that, as a kid growing up over here (The UK) I was raised on Cadbury's (well not raised - but you know what I mean), which is also described as 'Milk Chocolate', but, is markedly different in taste despite essentially containing the same ingredients.

Anyone who's tried both will probably get what I'm talking about.
It's all just a matter of taste and how your early experiences shape it.
For me, 'Hershey' chocolate (like Nub's) tastes 'funny' - I just can't help it damn it.

FWIW (Not much I suspect), I wish I'd dry boxed this one for a week or so as well, as I suspect it would have brought out more of the elements I enjoy in a cigar.

Forgive me Sam, Lee, etc - you know I love you guys really.
                I'm just a philistine!

Is it just me, I don't dislike the Nub, but they just feel a little strange in the hand and awkward.
