so while i like the explanation that its like salts coming out of a salami... its still not an explanation or an accurate description of anything!! And we wonder why people think cigars are an exclusive club, just made up flimflam. Unquestionably I have seen oilier sticks with some form of crystaline substance on the wrapper... BUT i've also seen many types of mould. My GUESS is that the plume obsession is because it happens in sealed boxes, inside closed humidors, dark cabinets, with no consistent observation or accurate record..... and it happens to things that are above the threshold of discretionary spend to simply discard when they 'rot'.
