Medium tooth brush. One of the jets was spilling flame out to the side. All good now!

If it’s just a blocked/clogged jet I find a compressed air canister quite good. To remove Carbon build up try a Cotten bud dipped in white spirit.

Flick through cigar insta, flick through here but mainly herf with friends as we smoke. The one (and probably only) good thing lockdown but was the many people I've met and spoke with through cigar smoking.

Warm months - lounging on the decking with music on (normally after food) with a glass of Bumbu or similar. Normally have a robusto vitola so have a good hour + of relaxing.

Colder (wet) months - Sat at the outdoor bar (hanging out the bifold doors), typically smoking a HUHC, staring at the empty space at the top of the garden where I keep threatening to hire a mini digger and flatten an area large enough to build an office / smoking room.

Summer sitting outside or in the green house either on chat with someone else herfing or watching YouTube stuff. Winter I’m doing the same but only in the green house with a heater😎
Lately when I’ve been working on the workbench I’ve had a cigar too, but it’s a bad idea, you don’t enjoy the cigar as much and it often goes out because you get caught up in some detail .

Really interesting question. I’ve been wondering the same. I usually sit on my balcony, light up a cigar, think about the cigar for awhile then I start overthinking usually about work stuff or life stuff. Or people watch from my balcony. Or lately taking photos of my cigar.

Just before lockdown I started venturing out trying various different cigar sampling lounges or terraces across London but felt incredibly lonely - like a proper billy no mates. I don’t really have any cigar buddies to smoke with. Recently at the Montague on the Gardens I ended up chatting to the couple next to me and it was a great night, but then I found I spent all the time chatting and not focusing on the cigar I was smoking which felt like a waste somehow. For the first time ever, my cigar kept cutting out.

I’m trying my first online cigar event tonight so that will be a different experience I’m sure.

So you've learned one of the guidelines of herfing already, don't take something special because the conversation takes over and you won't really notice what you're smoking.

Have to agree with you there PJ, I hardly ever need to re-light a cigar, unless I am herfing & them it's all the time! When you are used to smoking alone, having company does take over so as PJ suggests, it's not the time for very old or complex cigars. I have thought smoking one large cigar line a Hoyo DC would be suitable, just light & smoke but I have only managed this on my first herf. Since I find I'd rather smoke few few short but different stenght/flav smokes works better for me. If herfing with one or two friends then we pass around a round of cigars each, that way you comment on the same cigar as you smoke it, which keeps you more in touch with the cigar & more importantly sharing your finest smokes with your best buddies. I have a habit of opening a new box every time my friend Zowie comes over. It makes opening a box that more special to ftry the first together, although it can be a little frustrating to wait in between visits. Good news is, he should be over next week! I have a box of Short VR's from 2014 that I have been waiting a yr or two to open, the time is nigh.

I have to agree, I rarely relight unless I’m not giving the cigar the attention it deserves. Playing chess against Simon whilst smoking was particularly troublesome .

I missed this first time round but to chime in I’m always outside as I don’t smoke in the house so winter is always a bit of a barren period for me, in fact I haven’t smoked this year so far my last was just before Christmas. Normally I’m sitting in the garden watching Netflix or football on a laptop. Quite often last year due to increased working from home I smoked while working which made for a nice change and something I’d like to continue where possible although this does increase relights.

Usually I have a drink accompanying my cigars, craft beer or coffee depending on time of day are popular choices but in my opinion nothing beats orange juice (which i don’t drink unless I’m smoking strangely).

Good point! If we ever get out of lockdown I’ll definitely keep that in mind.

I've taken to listening to my heyday 90s classics, from Britpop to Tupac, Snoop and Biggie, that music just makes me move and really keeps me warm in the winter, never balled with a cigar back in the day but it sure works now.
