For a while I had been really struggling with the burning of my cigar. It always seemed no matter what I did the cigar would go out after 4-5 mins of smoking. I originally thought it may just be a bad quality cigar and the next one will be better, but the problem persisted.
I can't remember exactly which one of you told me, but I was advised to dry box a cigar the day before smoking. This has been a game changer for me so far. Every cigar has burnt so well it's been a joy. I even noticed the RyJ I smoked yesterday burned exceptionally well and that was out of the humidor for 36 hours. My approach is to simply leave the cigar on my desk for the following day.
Do any of you have a dry Boxing strategy or any other process you follow to ready your cigar for smoking? Would make an interesting read and see the comparisons.
