  • Length or girth?

No, I'm not talking about what YOU think I'm talking about

What makes for a long smoke? Is it the length or the ring gauge? For instance, would a robusto smoke longer than a corona?

I always thought it was dependant on cigar and girth.. oh well, needless to say i can puff away quite merrily and only time a smoke if im going to review it, i kind of already know how long certain sticks take to smoke just by experience and so i can pick up a 6 x 60 if ive got for example an hour and 15 minutes to 30 minutes to smoke it. if not id go for something less lengthy or thick.

It's a little bit of everything that affects the smoking time - both length and girth make a difference; as does how 'moist' it is; plus the types of tobaccos used; the construction of the cigar; and, of course, how you smoke it.

I'd say that of the two you asked about, length has marginally more influence than girth, but there's really not a lot in it. Of course, comparing a long 28RG to a shorter 52RG is never going to be a fair comparison - one simply has so much more tobacco in it.

This ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ A Nub can last an hour and it's only 4" long but 60+RG. An LGC Medaille Dor #4 can last over an hour and it is 6" but only 32RG.

Yeah, but that's because the Nub is full of magnificence.

Irregardless of all these replies (and don't bother wasting the time to tell me that irregardless is not proupour English because you're wrong: Whenever the Erie, Pennsylvania US Army National Guard is deployed to Iraq, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan or wherever, it leave Erie guardless ), the only factor to keep in mind is that in the matter of seegars (like the issue of your "unit"): SIZE MATTERS. Don't let anyone tell you different: Bigger is Better.

The bigger the cigar, the more the smoker is compensating for something...
