  • Best Cigar shop in London

    Hi all,

having had a look through the forum I couldn't find a thread on this. As such and before I get started I just want to check that it isn't again the forum's rules to discuss it.

If it's fine, I would then like to know which shop in London would you recommend? What is, do you think, the best place in terms of customer service, quality of cigars (not to dry, not to humid), range/selection on offer and of course best value for money ( I mean cheapest really ).

I have a couple I use sometimes but I'll only mention them later if it's ok to do so.

Why not read actually the rules, instead of getting someone to copy and paste them for you. Then you'd know what was safe to post and what wasn't.

      Best shop or Dealer

There is absolutely nowt around Bromley/Bexleyheath at all, I spent an hour in Bromley, looking for a lighter for someone that wasn't a Zippo. The best cigar you can find is the occasional NC Tubos probably left in a cupboard for years.
For a pop in shop, Covent Garden Market has Seegar & Snuff closest to Charring Cross, or a 5 min walk to Smith & Sons, 74 Charing Cross Rd.

Both similar in price but Smith's has the edge over Seegar on selection.

I Couldn't recommend UKCF sponsor Cgars enough though, my orders without fail arrive next day, they do price match on virtually everything, and have an extraordinary range of smokes and accesories.

Ask for Michelle tell em I sent you.

      My recent dealing with Cgars!

If you find anything closer to home (SE or abouts) let me know?

You ought to stop by Cgars LTD new shop in west hampstead. Its a great friendly place with well stocked walk in (seems perfectly humidified). Bonus is he has tables and chairs outside and a comfy one inside where you are invited to smoke. Ill be stopping by there this sat if you fancy meeting for a smoke and pint!

You might consider going on one of nic wing's cigar walks, where the best are travelled to.

          Including Sautters, JJ Foxes, Davidoff's.

As i have only just joined I didn't want to put my foot in it. I have read the rules and point number 5 seems to be indicating it's ok. I wanted to make absolutely sure I could discuss specific, named shops that's all.

David I agree with you there is absolutely nothing as far as I know in or around Bromley. Closest, quickest for me is to jump on the train to Victoria. I haven't tried the shop in Covent Garden and usually shop around Victoria (Tomtom Cigars or tobacconist on Victoria Road, opposite Sainsburys).

I used to go to Davy's in Greenwich where it was possible to buy Siglo1 / 2 a few years ago but I think they've stopped it now. There is definitely the need for a good cigar shop our side of the river!

With a very biased point of view I would say Davidoff (corner of St James's and Jermyn street). Please ask for me (Eddie) as I work there...

                      Hi Eddie.

Will share with you my first and only experience with your fantastic looking shop. Went in, got stared at by all the staff, took a walk around the humi and was followed like a thief, left and have never been back.

I'm sure not everyone gets such treatment but it certainly alienated me. walked down to JJF and have been a customer ever since.

I will pop in and see you soon Eddie and see if things can be recified

                        Eddie,

I will most definitely pop in over the next few weeks to introduce myself I purchase a cigar!

In a bit of a financial drought at the moment but looking forward to meeting other fellow BOTLs of this forum for a cigar and a pint too!!

I'm very sorry to hear that and it should never be the case in our shop. Please give us a second chance and pop in next time you are in the area. I am there M-F but not Saturdays - please do ask for me.

                              All the best, Eddie
