  • WTF ? Burning issue ...... never had

    this before.

Went for my afternoon smoke. Last of my HdM Petit Robbies. It's been in my small humi for months. Humidity 69?.

All the others have been fine. The gar in the pic is alight (excuse my little ash tray I foil cover it for smokes). But, after about a half inch of uneven burning (flavour was OK) it just petered out and all it would do was smolder. Cutting the head off and re-lights didn't help, blowing on or sucking like Hercules wouldn't get it going. I've just binned two thirds of what is usually a very good cigar.

As I said, the cigar in the pic is alight, I doubt you can see from the picture, but bottom side of the gar appears more densely packed than the top and there is a tunnel running into the cigar about a third down from the top.

    Has anyone else experienced this?

Happened to me once, maybe twice. I have always just assumed a dodgy stick.

Had an issue like that once or twice. If you knock the ash off does the centre feel rock hard like Gary Glitter walking past a secondary school? I've always put it down to being a handmade product and one bad one slipping through with the filler leaf containing lots of tar which when heated soaks into the rest of cigar causing draw and light issues. Now I either write it off and throw it away or if I have length left keep cutting till I reach good tobacco and smoke again if possible.

Had this once before with a SCdH La Punta...

It was the only one out of a box of 25 to do it though...

So as the other guys say just put it down to being a hand made product and the odd one like this just slips through I guess...

        Cheers, HabanoSy
