Storing in humidor, in or out of tubes?

Well leaving them in the tubes has two advantages - it protects them from 'rumage damage', and you don't forget what they are (cos they will almost certainly be bandless!). As has been said, you can take off the lids (or loosen them) to help with humidifying issues, but as they will not be airtight you can leave them on (just takes longer for the humidity in the tube to match that of the humidor thats all). The only real disadvantage that I can see of leaving them in the tubes (lids on or off) is that they take up more room..."The socialism I believe in is everyone working for each other, everyone having a share of the rewards. It's the way I see football, the way I see life"

I keep mine in the humi caps off. I haven't actually seen a Tubos 'bands off', so identification isn't an issue in that respect. However it is an issue when it comes to taste as some Tubos seem to smoke better than their boxed versions the Boli RC being an example. If you want to, you can.
And, if you can, you must!

Cap on, or. . Cap off?
The main advantages of keeping the caps 'on':
1). They offer protection against spikes, or fluctuations, in humidity (either up or down) that might otherwise impair the flavour and/or damage the cigar.
2). They prevent cross-contamination of flavours if stored alongside cigars of differing provenance or taste profile.
3). They offer slightly more in the way of protection should the 'dreaded' tobacco weevil strike (though they can still get at 'em, just takes longer).
4). They retard the aging process, useful if planning on long term storage (i.e. over 7 years).
5). It keeps everything nice and neat and tidy. Handy if you suffer from OCD, and let's be honest, anyone who spends their time worrying about how to maintain their cigars at a steady 65 degrees humidity is half way there already!
(Not to mention, keeping every cigar band from every cigar they've ever smoked and pasting it into a journal of notes!!!! - I'm looking at you Lee Nub).
So rests the case for keeping the caps 'on' Mu'lord.
Over to you.Originally posted by DRAGMASTEREvery time I sleep with a girl I smoke a cigar while we do it. It's exciting and makes you feel strong, manly and empowered.

Cap off for me because how is the humidity gonna change thru the tube?
As far as cello, they will breath so it depends on personal preference. I personally take the cello off as I like the smell of the tobacco when I open the humi. I keep the cello for when I send the cigars on a trip!!!
Just my $.02I got 'em So I smoke 'em

For me i take them out of the tubes. The way i see it the tubes are there for protection during transit, once they reach my humidor they are safe. I keep the tubes in case i want to take them out for the day and just want to take the one instead of a couple when they would go in my case.
