We have many long and learned discussions here about setting up and maintaining humidors and the correct humidity and temperature to keep cigars at for best smoking pleasure and ageing but I don't recall any mention about how long to keep cigars out of the humidor before smoking.
I was listening to an interview I did with one of the old hands of the UK cigar business last night and in it he mentioned that he usually took his cigars out of the humidor some considerable time before smoking them.
This allowed them to dry a little and to stay lit and draw better.
Any thoughts?
What do you do?
Do you have issues if you smoke one straight out of the humidor if you are keeping yours stored at 68% - 70%?
