  • A Question to Pete Johnson...

Since you are a new member on our forum and a successful businessman in the cigar business I thought I'd pose a question directly to you. Is it true that the lonsdale is your favorite cigar shape?

And to open this thread up to other forum members, what is your favorite vitola and why?

I am interested in this because it seems to me that lonsdales are rather unpoplular in comparison to robustos and torpedoes. Case in point: TJ has already told me that he prefers girth to length as I was ramming him up the recently. "So do I," I thought. What do the rest of the forum members think?

I'm a fan of girth also (fnar) Probably why I favour Nubs. Anything over 52 rg I prefer, over 60 is a bonus . Length, I prefer shorter cigars, under 5 inches is perfect.

Mr B put this to the forum a few months back, but it will be interesting to see what emerges since our members swelled.

Aesthetically, I'm going with the old school Figurado or Perfecto, general smoking would be the Robusto, and for when time is short, a Minuto

Tbh I would have said I prefer the girth and short but lately I have been favouring a longer slender stick I'm a bit of a tobacoo lightweight so a still tend to prefer a shorter stick upto around the 6 inch mark

Jeez, I like em all! I prefer a robusto, however, although I wouldn't turn down a Lonsdale.

I enjoy a short fat smoke just like Mr Nubb. Robusto or perti robusto is my prefered smoke or any Nub.

Another fan of a wide cigar and length really depends on the mood i'm in and time to enjoy the cigar. Nothing worst than feeling you have to rush smoking a cigar or having to stop smoking it half way through. I find the wider cigar produced more smoke and flavour per puff and smokes cooler which i prefer. Thinner gauges have their place, i love the cohiba minis for a quick smoke. I guess what i'm trying to say is there is a cigar for every occasion and every occasion a cigar. I just find myself in situations that i prefer wider cigars for. Plus they look cooler and image is everything after all lol.

There's something for every occasion I think. I'm liking the corona gorda lately but I've not tried many in the size. Longer and slimmer seems to give a smoother stronger taste to me. I suppose these things come and go...

For me it's all about flavour and how much time I have, the actual size is less important.
?I have to laugh when I think of the first cigar, because it was probably just a bunch of rolled up tobacco leaves?
