there is a reason CC are so much more sought after than NC. I have yet to find a NC that comes anywhere near the quality of a good CC. Having said that the quality of CC until recently has been piss poor. So, if your humi is packed full of cigars from before 2003 then it is likely you will have a number if poor smokes in there (usually draw problems). which is a long winded way of saying that the only time I go for a NC is when I really want a hassle free smoke with something I don't have to fight. Until recently the construction quality of NC has been superior to CC.

I just read that back and thought it sounded very contradictory! what I meant was (generally speaking):
CC: quality in the flavour, richness and complexity department. Question marks over construction quality.
NC: less complexity but generally very well made.
I know it's a bit of a cliche, but one I think that holds some water.

I have to agree with this, although I don't have a world of experience with NC's. Part of the reason I smoke mainly CC's is there is a slight variation in the box - they may all have the same flavour profile, but they look, feel and taste like someone has sat down and made them individually. The QC could probably be better, but that's part of the charm for me. I've been lucky enough to never have a CC that was unsmokable, though - i'm sure if this happened I would feel differently about the "quirks" of Cuban manufacturing.

My personal experience has been that NCs, even the ones I have liked very much at first just don't seem to stand the test of time... I get bored of them after awhile. The CCs I like always seem to keep my attention, there is just more complexity in them, more "soul".
