...should I let my new smokes chill in the humi for? Dying to try one out today, but not sure how long they need to be left for!

Well... how long's a piece of string...
There are those on here who quite like fresh/youngish cigars, and would tell you that a few days of R&R to get them over the horrors of Royal Mail would suffice.
Then again, there are some on here who believe a cigar should not be looked at, let alone smoked, until it's the best part of two years old (so for what is sold now, about a year in the humi).
I know which option is always the one that seems most appealing to me.

Re: How long...
I enjoy young as well as aged cigars and so I give my cigars a couple of days in the humi after they arrive. Though saying that I received a bomb on Wednesday and I smoked one that day and it was most enjoyable.
Do an experiment for yourself if you have two of the same cigar- smoke one today Nd one in a weeks time- see whcih you prefer oreven if you detect a difference?

Personal preference.
If the cigars are ready for smoking age wise, I still prefer to give them 3-6 months in my own humi prior to smoking. It is all a matter of personal preference."Keep your eyes peeled, your arse up, head down, and your ear to the gound" WHISKY77

I can't resist! They came from mysmokingshop, on a recommendation here...possibly may have been you Tip! May have to fire one up later and see how they are. I wasn't asking so much about aging, but more how long to ensure they're at the proper humidity etc. Will have to have a smoke tonight I think! The maduro's and the RP are all calling to me!My photoblog: http://chrisclarkphoto.blogspot.com/

For humidity equalisation, I read about a week in the humi is sufficient. I don't know for certain though.
