I do a couple of trips a year with a friend to Madrid. ?50 return on easyjet, a nice day out and 400 Quintero Brevas at ?1.60 a stick. Only fly in the ointment is Brexit.

They were sent on the 3rd August and arrived here with me on the 8th August. May just have been a fluke, but you never know.
        Hi Mark,
Please re-read the rules of this site, you appear to be encouraging others to try & import cigars without paying duty, this is not allowed & I expect a Mod will delete this post.

As Simon says, best not to discuss customs avoidance.
Thanks for thinking of the lads here but we're unable to discuss any foreign purchases at all..... Expect for in the flesh visits to stores

Hi guys i wasnt encouraging people to avoid paying any sort of duty or customs fees, i was just saying what had happened when i bought cigars from across the pond. Sorry if i have caused any problems. I was completely expecting to get a letter or invoice for the fees required, but this didnt happen and i was completely surprised by this....
This is why i didnt name the company involved.

You can import what you want, just dont falsely declare it. Its no secret HMRC/border force or whatever they call themselves dont check every parcel, as long as you dont falsify the declaration you are not at fault.

But just one tip, they do calculate the Duty by weighing the cigars in the box & many US cigars come in fancy heavy boxes, that's a lot of potential Duty!

If you?ve correctly prepaid the duty at the correct weight of tobacco couldn?t you argue it though?

Indeed and there are horror stories out there of big charges.

                    • Thanks to a false declaration by a seller, border force seized a box that I bought on a well known FB group, and I lost about ?400 - be warned.

Yes but that is also illegal so therefore against the rules To encourage members to do that.

They can. Anyone at age can bring 50 sticks at least (or more from within EU) to do with whatever they please [emoji41]
