  • Little heads up for mini's smokers ....

The new Cohiba SE tins x 50 are excellent and I'm working my way through my second tin.

But. Check out Cafe Cream. Currently they to are doing Special Editions of their x 10 'Original' (yellow tin) and the x 10 'Light' (blue tin). The graphics look the same as standard tins, but the yellow tins are slightly more ochre and the graphic surface has a leather grain look. The blue tins have the same grained graphic and the blue is slightly darker than normal. In very small white lettering across the top of the tins it says SPECIAL EDITION. They're not easy to find because they are only being supplied in small numbers and because they are very difficult to tell apart from the normal production.

The price is the same as the normal Cafe Creams. The taste is entirely different. I don't know what Wintermans have done, but they are IMO better than the Cohiba.

Thanks-are we only likely to see these it specialist tobacconists or are they distributing them everywhere ie. supermarkets?

Got mine (by accident) from my local Co-op .... went back to buy some more .... and all gone. The shop only received 1 outer of each and aren't sure if they will be re-stocked.

But my guess is Supermarkets are the most likely. The downside of that is I can't see clearly enough to see if it is the LE's on the shelves and the staff don't usually know enough to understand the difference.

The Cohiba minis SE's; is it just a large tin of 50 normal minis? I prefer the Paragas minis to the Cohiba ones so I might skip this one.

The cafe cremes, hm I might look out for them but I don't like cafe creme at all....are these special editions markedly different?

The Cohiba SE's are a different blend to the norm. Sorry, CJ they knock the socks off the production Partagas.

The Cafe Cream .... no. it's pot-luck. They're either on the shelf or they're not. No in-store promotion .... nothing, ziltch!

I just went into the local corner shop where i pick up lunch every day - yet another shop at the doorstep of my work place - and they had both! Well, they had both colours [blue and yellow] which said Limited edition [i'm not sure now if it said limited or special on the tins].

Spot on Tippy. Spotted these at local train station and bought a pack to try. Not normally a big fan but intend buying rest of their box on way home. Totally different from the standard ones.
Would be nice to think they would change to this blend for good.

                    Doubt it Lion.

They've disappeared now totally from my local shops.

                    Can't find them anymore!

                    Soddit!

If you see any mate. Grab them .... gold-dust!

I got the special editions too - I thought they were quite light tasting though and I don't know what the original ones taste like

I see them all over the place though, tescos and such. The tin has a leather-look print on it and 'special'or'limited' edition in light text at the top?

Snapped up their last 10 boxes.
Off to snowy Aberdeen on a rugby tour this weekend so reckon mini's will be the answer. Don't fancy "enjoying" a good robusto, or even a pc while freezing my bollocks off. Kind of removes the "enjoyment" part and ruins the experience. (will take some in the faint hope of decent weather though.)
Anyone know of decent tobacconist in Aberdeen for a few petite coronas?
