contamination of other cigars and stinking up your humidor aside, your half-smoked cigar would not even taste right the next day.

life's too short - pitch the stick and fire up a new one next time around.

    Absolutely correct!
If you want to, you can.
And, if you can, you must!

        So that's a no then?

I have to say that any cigar that has gone out or has been extinguished never tastes the same. I've tried to get a real mix of cigars in my humidor to be able to match the cigar to the amount of time I have.

It always really pi$$es me off if I get disturbed by something that means I have to put a good cigar out because that really means it's dead and gone before it's time.

            Ditto.

You spend good money to buy a fine cigar. Too much money to waste. Either keep a few sizes to suit what time you have available, or be prepared to sacrifice your half finished one.
I try to keep the top of the range for when I'm sure /i have at least an hour to spare. I always have some shorts about or some panatellas for a more rushed job, but the real thing is for relaxing and chilling out.
