twice a week at lunch with a colleague who appreciates a premium cigar. on the other days i'm usually smoking alone - but i have found that cigar smokers tend to be a friendly lot and on several occasions whilst sitting in either patricks park or stephens green fellow cigar smokers have joined me.
I tend to smoke alone, but on occasion I might pop into Floridita and have a chat with a couple of the regulars there [admittedly I don't go there that often...but I might do on Saturday/Sunday this weekend since I'm quaffing around up in town anyway!].
I quite enjoy the smoke on my own for that forced 'me-time' and a change of pace. However I do like a smoke with friends where possible in a social setting for a little bit of the banter.
A lonely hobby these days. Banned from public places by the Government. Banned from the house by the missus. In the Summer it's better, at least then
a coffee and a small cigar at a street cafe allows the opportunity to watch the ladies go by in their skimpier outfits.
I sit on a bench outside the cathedral and do just the same thing.
not that I'm a perv, y'understand!
Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote.
A silent, slow one deep in my mind ramblings is great.
I love mates round to my shack, or smoking with other cigar buddies elsewhere.
I seem to be smoking most out late walking my dog at present.
I prefer to be enveloped by thick smoke indoors. Alone or with mates. I like the clouds hovering around my shack downlighters - Very stage set.
On a dog walk, there is no sense of the smoke hanging about your person, but it can lube up sympathetic passers-by and induce comment.
I have to smoke an 'everyday' cigar with company as i cant have the full attention to inspect a good smoke, wouldn't want a good good cigar to go up in flames in vain.
Do you find your BEST smokes are normally with company or on your own? I think smoking with company is more consistent, good company can make an average cigar very enjoyable. But smoking a cigar on my own, I have to be in the right frame of mind, relaxed/fatigued. I know its the right time when I've been craving a song then I'll stick my headphones on, bit of rum and ice water and any cigar I light up will just sing.
Unless my wife joins me for conversation, I always smoke alone on my back patio, taking in the view of the mountains. Its very relaxing but not as much fun as the few times I have gotten to smoke with friends.
Mike: Neil, it is very rare you interest me, but today you have. Why do you keep coming in here, carrying a cake, and saying surprise? Neil: It's my birthday. Mike: Now you knew that anyway, and we don't care, so where's the surprise? The Young Ones
Wed afternoons in the company of the cafe, usually the only cigar smoker but in the summer a lifeguard turns up who goes to Cuba 2-3 times a yr & we have a good time.
During a 2/52 leave, I usally meet up with a Belgian mate & his wife over a w/end & they both smoke. Even better in the winter they smoke in thier house, warm cosy & great company, which means I don't mind supplying the wine & Havanas.
Fishing usually one my own unless in the UK & then MattBlack is my boat partner.
Manage to pop into Boisdales once a month & meet the lunchtime crowd & whenever I can make a herf I will, the best times of all

I have to admit to being, predominantly within the 'loner' smoking camp. I enjoy the sense of escapism that a cigar can give you - half an hour or an hour in the garden, getting away from everything and just concentrating on the cigar, nature and sounds etc.
However, I also love herfing - I've hugely enjoyed all the get togethers I've had with other members of the forum.
mostly im a lone smoker but that suits me fine its always been my time to chill relax and contemplate my thoughts, occasionally i do smoke with friends and family, though i have to say since joining UKCF i love to light up a smoke and indulge in a little forum reading makes me feel im with fellow BOTL's and good company, bah im getting all soppy....
