Like MB says it's down to the situation there are times when when you are in Tesco's quibbling about ?7 for a bottle of wine and you are in a restaurant with friends and pay ?30 for the same and if you were with business colleagues you'd pay ?50. Though ?30 is enough for a stogie !

I spent ?IR38 in U2s hotel in Dublin for a Cohiba Robusto. It was the year 2000 and there was no smoking ban and I had just started smoking Cubans. God knows how much they charge for them now!No man has the right to fix the boundary of a nation.

im a fool with money. i have a tendancy to blow it when i need it the most.
i spend 30 on fox's aged lusitanias and hoyo DCs. havent spent that much more than 30 on a single.
but, i dont think its too crazy spending 50-100 on a cigar. sure, logically you know you're almost spending enough to buy a box worth. but the countless times ive spent 50-100 on a night out getting smoooshed and not really enjoyed it... if special cigars come my way and i feel like i wanna burn some cash then yes. a very special hoyo or partagas... id be there

Over the years (and thanks to some rather reckless shenanigans), I've had the odd 'close call' or two, leaving me with an 'eat, drink and be merry' kind of attitude to life.
So, when I've had it, I've spent it, and bloody well enjoyed it. Even so, I find myself 'drawing a line' at the price that some of the upper end cigars go for. I might be tempted for a Cohiba Gran reserva (or two), but beyond that ...unlikely.
It's an odd rationale though, because looking back, I've spent daft amounts of money on a bottle of wine, eaten in some eye-wateringly expensive restaurants, and willingly forked out to stay in some of the worlds more (in)famous hotels.
I guess it's easier to justify the cost when it's something you're sharing with someone else, whereas cigars are a purely self-indulgent pleasure, maybe that's why I keep hearing a voice in my head (the working class Yorkshire man in me) who keeps shouting ''How much? Don't be so bloody ridiculous soft lad!". Perhaps I shold start listening to it more.
Hmmn, note to self, not sure I should be admitting to hearing voices in my head people might start to think I'm unhinged, wibble, wibble.

Generally I don't spend much more than $10 USD for a cigar, but I have spent quite a bit more, well into the over $100 range. Once in a while for truly special occasions a truly special smoke is nice, and I think about like I think about any entertainment, how much can I afford to spend on this event and what am I sacrificing in order to pay for this?

?100 for 10 Dukes is my highest so far, but C4 is clearly a very wise man. I too would spend much more if the stars were aligned and I was having a good time smoking it. It's a shame that if you live outside London it is hard to fid somewhere congenial to smoke - so I guess it is a special occasion when I do.

Over to NASA HQ, we gots us this Sooper-Sekrit Brain Communicator and combination pedicure kit which allows us to talk directly into anyone's head. I have access to the SSBCCPK on alternate Tuesdays between 3:17 a.m. and 3:24 a.m., Central Turkmenistani Time.
You know those thoughts you've been having about how nice it would be to send some el primo vitolas to that devilishly handsome rokkit scientist across the waters? Yup. Me.
So no worries, mate. No unhinged wibble, wibble. Just do what the voice in your head tells you and all will be well.

I paid $118aud (whats that, about 60 quid?? ) for an Opus A. It was for celebrating my divorce, so I didnt care what the price was. Brilliant cigar! Fell in love with it.
I have paid $46aud for a Party SdN4, and hated it. I cursed the day it was born. So I bought another. And the same reaction applied.
On a regular smoke, I am prepaired to spend up to $140 a box. CC or NC, th price doesnt change. That does not include this countrys tax on tobacco, but usually includes shipping.
