The P1 one was interesting but not sure I would smoke it over and over, like I would the Duke.

P1 is such a unique cigar.

            what to choose

whilst i can understand the the short list including the monte and duke my problem comes with the p2 as with many partagas regular production this habano has been consistant for many years and has always provided me with a great smoke. i suppose my point being is is the vote taking into account fresh or recently purchaced p2 or aged p2 seeing as the dukes and monte being LE have already been constructed with aged tobbaco and are LE'S after all. To try and conclude my choice would be the duke being as the best new or LE i have smoked in 2009 but is by no means the best habano i have smoked dont get me wrong give them a year or two and they will ace.. hope that makes sense..

                hello all,
this sounds like a great idea!!! personally, imo, i believe the best cigar of 2009 was the h upmann magnum 48 el2009, definitely the best the the el's anyway! i'm sure the 3 choices are justified, i find it odd that they're all different 'classes' of cigar, if that makes sense! in my local habanos shop here in belfast, the monte sublime is among the ELITE of the stock (?27 a pop if my memory serves me right) and therfor i haven't had one yet! the duke is ?20 a pop and the P2 around ?17!!! they've all different qualities........to me, it's like this:
                1. the P2 comes out tops for a great 'value for money' big cigar (?3 dearer than a psd4, a quid cheaper than a cohiba robusto)!!!
                2. the monte sublime comes out tops for it's desirability and general 'aura of greatness' (so much so i wanna smash the glass top of the counter in my habanos shop and do a runner with 'em! lol)!!!!
                3. the RyJ duke comes out tops simply because it's the new kid on the block and has already come out fighting, gaining our love n' respect in such a short space of time! the 'rocky' of cigars imo! big n bulky in appearance, 'performs' fantastically, but really pleasant to deal with lol!

cheers kdot, you've created a real pickle of a puzzle!!!

                all the best,

                alex

Hmmmmmmm .... not sure if U.S. Air Force would really want us discussing the attack characteristics of their planes, helicopters and unmanned reconnaissance drones on here Muma.

                            Some might smoke cigars though!
If you want to, you can.
And, if you can, you must!
