The only Monty EL 06 I've smoked was at a LCdH in Mexico in the fall of 2006. I thought it was a pretty fine smoke then, but the resident aficionado mentioned that these should age well and be excellent puros with a few years in the humi. So I bought a box on the spot, which has be resting untouched in my humi ever since. Still holding on, however....hard to pop the cherry on a full box of super fine puros.

For me, the best puro I have smoked this year is the one I smoked today - the Cohiba Sublime EL '04.

Entirely agree TJ, I am glad I gave these 18 months to settle down.

The MC EL 06 is getting more difficult to source now, and I think I might have to be forced into purchasing another box sooner rather than later.

I am praying the MC Sublimes will be as good over the same period of time.

I've managed to get two boxes of the MC sublimes which i too hope will age in to a classic.. havent tried them yet, will leave them be for a year or two.

The most tasty smoke for me is my most recent purchase - the SCB Principe - such awesome flavours packed in to a small stick!

Where are you guys sourcing the MC EL 06?

In my limited experience with habanos, only been smoking them for less than a year, I have not had the privilege of sampling all of the great brands out there. Out of the ones that I have tried, it would be hard to pick a favorite. I would have to say the H. Upmann Mag 46, PSD4, HDM Petit Robusto, Party Shorts, and the Rass all top my list.

I've had 3 outstanding sticks this year:
JLP Petit Cazadores 07. These blow extremely hot and cold. They can be excellent.
Bolivar Libertadores RE 06. Big stick, strong but beautifully rounded flavour.
Cuaba Diadema 06. Absolutely amazing, intense, meaty rich herbiness. Hours of joy.

This is a tough one. There was a quite a few. I would go with Cohiba Robusto, H.Upmann Sir Winston and Montecristo Edmundo.
