A good, Visual but informative cigar book.

I know there are many publications out there, but there must be some bonafided 'GOOD ONES' that everyone has. Is there a book , where perhaps, It explains and pictures every vitola from every Habanos brand? Or maybe explaining how they're made etc.

As much as I like to read, I also don't want something that lacks pictures (The 3 year old in me), reading some paragraphs and seeing a full page spread of some cigars would be

Essentially , just a big book where I can look back over and still find new stuff to read/discover. Actually, I'd like to learn more vitola names and more about a cigars construction!

So what are some golden oldies? The only cigar reading matter I have is CA AUG 07 which I've thumbed through too many times now.

MRN's book is 'THE' best...

However it's not something you can easily thumb through, on the train say, so...

Definitely...

Friends/family that come into my house see that book on the coffee table, pick it up, thumb through it, are amazed and usually want a copy (cigar smoker or not ).

I have quite a few, but the best two are MRN's and this one:



I've got the top two on Habanosy's post which are ok, Marvin's tend to be just a few comments from CA and a mix of standard cigar photo's but they are portable and worth having, the problem is, apart from reviews which vary a little, the rest of the information is more or less repeated in most books, so it's better to find the best 4/5 and stop (until something new and good comes out).

Picture's are very important! (and worth a 1000 words!) good unique picture's can make a book.

Not read the bottom one habanosy - any good? anything unique in it?

Anybody else got a good cigar book (Cuban mostly) let the BOTL know about it.....

It does pretty much echo the third edition cigar companion, but there are differences in it and some more in-depth info on varying brands...

But nothing unique I'd say, if you can pick it up for ?2-?3 then it's worth having...

MRN is essential, of course, but I enjoyed Nancy Stout's "Habanos : The Story of the Havana Cigar". Nice coffee table book - largely about the architecture of Havana, the factories, the plantations and lots of historical stuff. Quirky but very emotive.

I've just ordered the one ACMCC suggested-looking forward to that.

The only one I've got is this, which will likely disappoint any members here, but did the job at the start as it cost me a pound and I bought it on a whim years before I went anywhere near a decent cigar.

I've a Bati boy of the 2nd Edition. I found it a bit disappointing with few cigars from the various ranges. Only paid ?3 so can't complain too much.

I've recently bought this


Which is a multimedia guide to all things Puro. Can't find much on the net about it, but flicking through the guide it would seem very informative. In Spanish and English. According to the blurb:
