Apart from the Henri Winterman?s (when me and me mates didn?t have any Rothmans or John player speshiz fags! Aged 13 fishing on the bank of the river Ouse)!

I think I bought my first proper stick, Cohiba Robusto on holiday in Spain when I as 23 with my young family.

Sat on a balcony in the sun, overlooking the Mrs and babies in the pool, I smoked it with a litre bottle of San Miguel and had a bowl of cacahuetes!
That was it! I knew I was in!

About 15 years ago I bought an 8 stick Cuban sampler from Mitch for about ?48. Bargain by today's standards. I think the first CC I ever smoked was a Rafael Gonzales Panatelas.....a nice enough cigar but it didn't blow me away.
The cigar that did for me from that same sampler was a RyJ Petit Princess (sadly discontinued).... I've never looked back

First cigar was a King Edward Imperial... still partial to them from time to time... they taste like they are laced with sugar! these kept me happy for a number of years - lazy pub crawls, University Balls, Poker nights ... they featured in all of them.

The first cuban it hard to identify. My mind is fogged as I know it came from an unbanded 25 cab. It was either HdM Epi2 or a SLR Serie A.

I know where, it was in the Maldives, I was circa 20 years old. In the gift shop on the island there was a humidor and as a matter of curiosity I asked the prices, turns out the humidor had recently broken (?) and I could pick anyone I liked FOC. I don’t know what it was that a chose, but it was the longest in the cabinet, a double corona, or maybe a lancero, my perception wouldn’t have been that great at the time.

that was the first ‘proper’ cigar. Prior to that I used to smoke the odd hamlet in the pub which was a novelty amongst my mates as I was the only one that had never smoked cigarettes, unlike all of them.

Do you remember your first cigar?

Henry Winterman Corona. I was 14 my father had could me having a crafty fag round the corner with some mates. So when I got home I got ?So you think your a man.... let?s sit down and have a smoke together. I thought he was going to make me smoke one if his mannequins, his everyday smokes, but no he went to the cupboard and got out to of his Corona, normally reserved for weekends and holidays. He made me smoke it all, even after I went to be sick.

Fat lot of good that did, I smoked cigarettes until I was 30 then stopped; and at 50 I started to explore cigars following a trip to Cuba. 10 years later I could probably open a small tobacconists with my cigar a pipe tobacco collection[emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

With the other half in Havana, 3rd April 2019 at 8:50pm. Gin and tonic in hand.

Purchased a Cohiba (not sure what type) from a factory shop and part-smoked it by the side of the rooftop pool at the Saratoga Hotel. Finished the second half off the following day and headed straight to the nearest humi to purchase several more for the remainder of the holiday.

...then returned to England, went online to buy a box and cursed at each other for not bringing more back when we were in Cuba 🤬

Would be interesting if anyone can identify what vitola we smoked please from the below image?
