First non cuban was a casa Fernandez? New cuba

First cuban was a Monte double edmundo.

I'd definitely like to go back to the double edmundo because I smoked it in middle of winter, froze outside and would like to re experience it.

This is quite similar to my first experience with a cigar.

When I joined the forum I said my first cigar was a Cohiba Siglo 2, which isn't strictly true... it was the first I finished though. The day I turned 16 me and my friend found it fascinating that I could walk into any shop and buy cigarettes or a cigar. I'm not a fan of cigarettes, so me and my friend agreed we would go down to the corner shop and buy something. The first thing I see, a pack of Hamlet Cigars. The shop keeper must have thought I was but hey, I'm sure they see many weird purchases. So we got the cigars and a lighter and rushed out of the shop. 30 seconds later we're lighting one of these bad boys up for an experience of a lifetime... On the first pull it was so harsh and strong tasting we both immediately threw them on the floor and never spoke of it again

I can't imagine smoking any cigars in the winter... so I don't know how you handled the double edmundo in the winter. I'll be relying on the cigar lounges of London's West End to keep me ticking over through the colder months

This is what I rely on. Make sure your pockets are deep for the winter.

My very first cigar would have been a RYJ tubed stick time celebrate my daughters birth 20 years ago. Didn?t really enjoy it that much to be honest.
Fast forward 17 years and I am working with an Italian guy who regularly smoked cigars. Got to talking to him about them. He bought in some 5 JLP Cazadores and gave me them. From that very humble start now have four humidors and several hundred cigars.

I have experienced roughly 35 winters and summers in my years to date. Yet every single year without fail during spring/summer (eg today) I just gasp at the thought of an evening so cold you have to wear a jumper, coat and hat. And vice-versa in autumn-winter. So weird. Every, single, year... Does it happen less over time?

Winter smoking: Doesn't worry me if I am fishing, then I am suitably dressed for the weather, whatever that might be but otherwise I am glad to have a smoking glass house at my local cafe. I wouldn't smoke anything really fancy in very cold weather, you just wouldn't get much out of it but my simple fishing smokes are enjoyable enough.

I was 46 years old and although I had been an occasional pipe smoker since my teens, I first tried a pipe when I was 12, I had never smoked a quality cigar. One day I was walking past Sautters cigar shop in London and looking in the window I saw the Cigar Aficionado magazine. I also caught the wonderful aroma of cigar smoke coming out of the door. A gentleman in the shop came to the door and asked if I was interested in cigars. He invited me in and showed me their selection of cigars. I said I loved the smell of cigars and would be keen to try one. He helped me selected a cigar and shows me how to cut and light it. I enjoyed smoking the cigar in the shop before leaving with the magazine and a few more cigars to try.

Sounds like a great way to start off. First proper cigar for me (prior to dabbling with cafe creme and Villiger export press) was an Upmann Coronas Minor tubo. Promptly followed by a BBF. Both were superb, loved that distinctive Cuban twang. Was hooked from then on.
