Do you remember your first cigar?

It was an RyJ Churchill at a friends wedding and unlike most weddings none of that was getting wasted! Though I almost never smoke sticks that long anymore.

Only going back a couple years now

My first memorable (as in I intentionally bought a cigar to try) was on my honeymoon. I attended a cigar tasting afternoon with the resort sommelier and was hooked. I can?t remember what was being sampled but there were two and distinctly different.

I then went to the resort cigar lounge and bought a San Cristobal de la Habana El Morro and smoked it that evening with a rum. From memory I had a BFF and a I think a few more SCdlH for the remainder of my honeymoon.

That?s when it all went south and here I am 5 years later, 32 years old suffering from CAD!

Anyway I'm pretty sure it was a Charatan Petite Corona.

Don't remember it in detail. But was nice enough to come back for more.

I remember collecting some NC's before Cubans. Montecristo, RyJ probably others. I gave that humidor to my mate many many years ago. He recently, as in a few years ago, brought out the same humidor with a load of them sticks still in there. Dry as a bone. Cracked. I had to explain to him they are probably gonners...

I bought a RyJ sampler for my birthday 9 years ago.
Weren't great if I remember correctly as they had no age. Goodness knows why I am still at it but I've not bought any RyJ since.

mines going to be a bit here and there and probably long winded...

I think my first cigar was a tubed Henri Winterman bought from sainsburys for my secondary school prom, this was around 2005

Things went quiet and I remember ending up working in said sainsburys in 2006 at the tobacco kiosk and chatting to one of the regulars who always bought villiger exports, I spent that summer smoking those in my village pub beer garden drinking far too much cider!

I'd smoked the odd stick here and there until my birthday in April 2017, living in Teddington (London) I had walked past the LCDH for months going to and from work and loved getting a waft of cigar, coffee and chocolate monday-friday and decided that I should have a go at cigars properly - popped in, chatted to Ajay (mistake number 1 right there) and walked away with a RyJ Cedros de Luxe LCDH and went and smoked it in my local beer garden and bloody enjoyed it. Not looked back since...

Having built up a good collection, i've now depleted it over lockdown and with no foreign travel right now and my trip to Spain cancelled the restocking is on hold sadly! Unless anyone has some more standard cubans they are looking to split/sell!

RYJ No 2, at my mates wedding in Poland, he picked up a box on a deal in europe on the way over and I think I smoked 3 that night.

Didnt smoke cigarettes so for me to enjoy smoking it was strange but amazing experience and enjoyed with many friends.

I didnt smoke a cigar for a long time after that but around 2014/5 I started meeting a friend in the cigar lounge around once a month then it escalated from there to 2-3 times a week now.

After kicking a 20 year cigarette habit I missed smoking but couldn't see the point in cigars and not inhaling the smoke. About 5 years ago while on holiday in Mexico I purchased a 5 pack of JLPs and enjoyed them enough to pick up some R&Js at the airport. The funny thing is that I don't remember being blown away those cigars them but I was determined to develop a taste for them to keep me off the cigarettes. Every now and again I would buy singles and then I had a h.upmann coronas junior that completely blew me away changed how I saw cigars. That was it for me, within 1 year I went from a small collection of less then 10 to buying several boxes a year and smoking most evenings. Full blown CAD has taken grip more recently

For some reason I joined a few Facebook groups about 18 months ago and brought a humidor, sampler etc.

First non cuban was a casa Fernandez? New cuba

First cuban was a Monte double edmundo.

I'd definitely like to go back to the double edmundo because I smoked it in middle of winter, froze outside and would like to re experience it.
