I wonder, when packaged and sealed, it must be done under stringent conditions. Assuming there aren?t any pin pricks in the plastic, these would keep their packaged humidity? Not indefinitely, but I guess for some time?

I heard the contrary - that the wrapper is porous and therefore will change humidity just like a naked stick depending on its environment.

Aye. The cello is porous.
I'd leave them on for protection especially if they're in your singles drawer

My bad... I was thinking the boxes were wrapped in that vacuum sealed plastic stuff you get, rather than cellophane. If it is cellophane though, then as above [emoji106]

Whenever I've looked into it, more often than not I tend to hear about aged NC's 'tailing off' or being past their best. I have a few Serie V and the like that I'm trying to leave a year or two to find the difference, but long term ageing is reserved for Cubans I've hidden away.

It is nice to be able to grab an NC without considering age though.

Cello on or off? I leave them on to help buffer any swings in humidity, as well as the physical protection.

Smoked a custom rolled Davidoff pyramides.... rolled in the UK by a dominican master roller from Davidoff. Had it since he rolled it for me .... in ?97. It was 18 years old. Was like drinking cream. Amazing! Still have a DC / churchill... cant remember its measurements .... to smoke. Now 23 years old! Not all will last for sure.... but the same can be said or cubans too

NC’s dont tend to date stamp.... sadly.

cubans do of course and when buying from forum buddies they will generally tell you age etc

Stick em in a large tupperware or locknlock box with a boveda.... unless you aphave a cabinet humi / wineador/ coolador that holds boxes. Cheap simple highly effective even if not so pretty

I have a small desktop humidor I keep for just ageing NC?s it holds around 40 - 50 cigars. When I buy a few NC?s I always put one or two in the ageing box (cello on in most cases). The box I hasten is full now, but there are some smokes in there with 2 or 3 years age on them.

Certainly the EP Carrillo I had smoked 8 months apart certainly improved in that relatively short time period in my opinion

Thanks Vitola, I?ve decided on the Dunhill Humi as a singles / smoking bin, the Adorini for the lay downs for now.
So I?m going to keep the majority of the new finds in with the singles to smoke except for the Carrillo Encores. These I hope will keep and perhaps appreciate in Monterey terms? Big guess but heh, I?ve got enough sticks to keep me going.
Speaking of which, I?d love some thoughts on the recent finds? I?ll stick a few pics up in the new in the Humi thread [emoji1417]
