  • Tight Draw

Hi all, a newish smoker....couple of years...and I have a question please. Tight Draw.....nothing ruins a smoke for me more than having to keep constantly puffing on a cigar to keep it lit and the swore cheeks that come with it. Thankfully it doesn't happen that often but I wondered what do others do?.. ditch it, persevere or is there a way o rectifying the situation?

I use a screw which works like a dream and costs less than a perfect draw

A screw? I used to use a cocktail stick & that helped, sometimes but by trying to get a screw inside a cigar, you are at best compressing the surrounding tobacco & at worst I imagine, splitting the cigar. The perfect draw actually removes tobacco so doesn't compress & can aid the air flow more naturally. I think out Sponsor's price if very reasonable (I paid more way back) & although I have rarely used it, it's like having insurance - peace of mind that if you do need it, it will be at hand. Unless your travelling, I wouldn't pack this in your hand luggage!

I tried to search for it. Maybe my search words of "tight" and "hard screw" were not the best ones to find the right video.

I can assure you the screws I use are the cleanest thing in my house. I always adhere to the 5 second rull if said screws are dropped and then more to the 10 second rule after this

Umm, I didn't mention your screwing method being unhygiene?

I had this issue yesterday, after I smoked through an inch, it passed and the draw was perfect. Hard to know where the tighter pack sits. I’m guessing a firm roll of that area with the finger tips just compounds the issue?
