I like 'em all. For the big ring gauge cigars I really like a DC or Sublimes size. Wide Churchills are great too and Mag 50s.

Thoughts on large ring gauge cigars?

Hence why, when deciding which Montecristo to opt for, I went for the No.1. I'd rather have the extra tobacco in more length than extra RG

Fascinating topic... my epicentre is the Robusto... be that a plain old regular Robusto or a robusto extra, a grande robusto robusto T etc etc etc...
Work up and down from there and lifes good. I even smoke the occassional 'whiff'. But.. I do like the larger ring gauges including the pyramides, but of notable addition I find the following to be genuinely lovely; Mag54... astounding cigar, BHK 52 stunner, HDM San Juan a suprisingly easy going stick for such a whopper... I guess i enjoy the volume of smoke and coolness you tend to get from the bigger sticks. And yet find that some of the slender Hdm and LGC are delightful.
Broad church... and happy to sample... each finds their own path!"Dear heart, you're talking to a man- a real man- who drinks straight Tequilla, with lime and salt on the rim, and smokes cigars" (J Zavala)

I just not a fan of the larger RG.
I appreciate more leaves, more blending opportunities. Less wrapper impact.
I do like the tastes of some for sure, but i do foresake them on the whole and rely on the sub 50RG. I do have a load I will smoke my way through that are 52-56: Topes, SCdlH Torreon, JL Punto 55, Hexagone, Open Eagle,San Juan and prob a few others.
Might actually let some of the larger ones go. Dont think I have anything bigger than a 56 though.
I think its because I cant bite-hold them as comfortably!

I think I may finally have this CAD under control...

This has been an interesting thread to read and made me really think about what I've smoked and got in my humidor.
A no2/torpedo/piramides is probably my favorite size and shape of cigar, though saying that the epi2, Choix Supreme and Mag 46 are steady go to's for me. I have recently got into the longer slimmer ring gauge cigars as well and am intrigued by the UK regional ERDM.

I have been lucky to mainly smoke aged ones, 2005 & 2005 - I have had a few newer ones but they've never been bad to my palette.
I do always try and rest my cigars for a few months before smoking them regardless of their age when bought. Though the two Siglo VI's I have will be resting for a few more years yet, one has 3 years on it and the ther about a year (in my humidor that is) and i've heard a minimum of 5 for these before they are good. Fingers crossed thats the case!
