This is a truly splendid smoke. I think lanceros are my new favourite vitola. Odd isn't it how much of a difference shape makes - like my staunch preference of linguini over spaghetti. I shall try more NCs too - they are tasty.
Thank you so much Tomm783 for opening my eyes - I appreciate it brother!

You?re very welcome. The uniqueness of a Lancero (I personally believe) is the proportion of wrapper vs the binder and filler tobaccos. The wrapper is typically the primary element that decides flavour. Lanceros are proportionately more wrapper vs other vitolas so you get a more intense version of the cigar in another vitola. I believe the go-to vitolas to understand the blenders original intent is a Robusto or Toro, other vitolas change these proportions and enhance/diminish the original blenders intent.
That aside, Lanceros are bloody lovely to look at and hold, even an ?oik? like me feels a little ?higher? when having an Lancero! [emoji23]

I can agree with your thoughts in Lanceros, except the idea that the wrapper provides the primary flav. Even with this vitola, the wrapper is a small percentage of the total tobacco. It does have a larger percentage of the taste of course but this subject has been debated many times & on other sites. I think the wrapper can deliver more flav for it's percentage than other leaves in the cigar, after all we can detect a small amount of sugar or salt in a cup of coffee/tea.

Yes love lancero?s found myself drawn to large ring gauge when I started smoking which i think is mainly due to what I associate with being a cigar in my head. The more I smoke the more I realise that skinny just seems to deliver more in flavour and depth somehow, plus you are right you can?t help but feel a bit fancy!
Always thought the wrapper was chosen primarily for esthetics in advance of flavour. It's half a leaf at the end of the day.
I had a wide churchill the other night and I could taste the wrapper on my lips so much - more than anything else (wasn't a very flavourful cigar but still).
