  • Burn Issues After Ash

Maybe it's just me, or maybe I'm missing out on some technique, but does anyone else suffer burn issues/relights after they've knocked the ash off?

I can have a cigar burning perfectly, then as soon as its past the first ash, it all goes to pot, usually requiring either a full relight, a solid touch up, or for me to drag on it a good few times to get it going again. It's especially annoying when I get to the final third and I'm trying to battle against keeping it cool but still smoking well (although I've found towards the end they usually struggle to smoke as well anyway).

It doesn't happen with every cigar, but I'd say most of them. Humidity isn't too high either.

I do feel after knocking the ash that a few puffs is in order to keep it well lit but that isn't a problem for me at all?
    Stay smoky

I did do that with the one I had earlier, but it started to heat up a fair bit. I've been trying to get in the habit of tapping the ash off before I take a puff, but more often than not do it instinctively after I've just taken one. Then it ends up tasting too hot when I keep puffing on it straight after.

I'll just try pay more attention to it next time lol

Don't tap the ash off, just wait for it to fall off on your shirt or jacket like a proper cigar smoker [emoji23]
