So I store my cigars in a Tupperdor with 4 Boveda 69% packs 60g size and my Boveda Butler is reading 76%!! Is there anything I can do to help the rh? Put in more Boveda packs re-calibrate the Butler??

When I calibrated the Butler is was reading bang on the right percentage. They give you an accuracy of the rh but what about the temp? How accurate is that??

            Tupperdor

Don?t put in more bovedas, 4 is more than enough anyway.

How long have they been in there?

Had it settled lower than this before adding the cigars?

Maybe try taking out a Boveda pack or two?

I don't think the boveda packs are the issue unless they're fake. They regulate themselves so you could in theory go mental and stick 100 in there and the RH should remain the same. I'd recalibrate the butler and try again, keep an eye on the temperature as fluctuations can cause differences in humidity. All else fails, drop to 65% bovedas, especially if you are holding a lot of Cubans. My humidors have 65% bovedas but the recent weather has had my RH up in the low 70's.

                  Hope this helps.

If you?re using a Tupperware I?d have thought it?s got a very good rubber seal on it? If it does, you don?t need 69, if chuck in 65?s. The boveda website suggests using higher RH if your using something with a less than perfect seal to compensate for leakage

Yes the weather in my room has been going up and down a lot, I was thinking if that was a reason for it as well. I don?t have that many Cubans in it, I mainly have nic and Dom cigars, I will leave it for another day and see how it does, I do still have the problem I will drop percentage

Maybe it's because you keep opening the box to look and smell them all the time ???

1deg C is meant to equate to a 4% shift in RH so fast temperature changes can easily have a fairly big impact on relative humidity
