Cigar smoking in the UK

I was at a recent birthday party and decided to pop out for a cigar. Quite interesting as it's already been mentioned.

'A cigar, who' 's smoking that?'

I was surprised they could see me in amongst the vape cloud and fag smoke. However, it did spark some good conversations, such as

*Do people still smoke them
*Where do you buy them
*How much do they cost - that was a funny one
*Is that not expensive
*How long does it take to smoke
*How many do you smoke
*Do you just keep them in your pocket

I've also had the nose turned up and pointed at with the retort 'it's him that's smoking the cigar, yuk'

My response, jog on and leave me in peace before I loose the dog.

Yes, that sounds a typical selection of comments I receive too. As individuals, there aren't too bad but you don't need 2 or 3 being negative at the same time. You know, even if you continue smoking your cigar, you're not going to enjoy it the same. Reason to find the most remote place in the pub garden ect to light up in the first place.

And is it true that the ones that smell like manure are the best ones...wtf??

Haha, ignorance is a virtue these days. The typical smell of manure is the ONE characterizing olfactory element of some of the most sought after clarets from Pauillac, Bordeaux.

Tbh, I would regard myself as a considerate cigar smoker. For example if I was out in a cafe I would look to see if there are any other smokers, if not I will either find the secluded spot or not light up and wait till I get home.

I tend to find reactions from most generally very positive to be honest more so than I expected anyway. Get a lot of people asking about them but people do seem to assume I?m loaded cause of it
