I mostly smoke at home winding down in the garden. I do enjoy a cigar when I play golf a few times a year over the summer months and also when out with colleagues and friends on shoots. I've not experienced any less acceptance though I am smoking out in the open and often with like minded friends.
We tend to holiday in UK cottages and similarly I sit enjoying a cigar watching the sun set or whatever, so again no real change there. Likewise, while away on skiing trips in the Alps each year, no issues enjoying a cigar.
I keep promising myself a trip to a cigar bar like 10 Manchester Street (just seen that Churchill Bar no longer have a cigar menu?) but I still haven't got around to it..
I visited a cigar shop with sampling lounge last week and really enjoyed it. I can?t imagine lighting a cigar in a pub smoking area, most people are just vaping on them now anyway!
I certainly dont miss going out for a meal and sitting in a room full of cigarette smoke, I think the indoor ban is a good thing. Outside of pubs/cafes is generally accepted but I see more restaurants now with no smoking rules outside, funny thing is the most hate or strange looks I have had seem to be from cigarette smokers - it must be envy while they are trashing their lungs

Funny you say that Shaun. We went out for lunch last week and although there were ashtrays on the tables outside, I didn’t feel comfortable enough to smoke my cigar there. It was a hot day and there were clearly non-smokers sitting outside (their choice of course) but it was the fact that my Robusto was going to take an hour to smoke that stopped me. A cigarette is a short, 3 minute affair, whereas we like to enjoy the flavours and relax. Rather than subject everyone else to my smoke for an hour, we found a bench by the Marina, much nicer than outside the restaurant anyway!
I echo what many others have said, I use the good weather as an excuse to [emoji91] lite up at every opportunity I can. Sitting outside aLocal cafe, bear garden, restaurant terrace park bench anywhere I can. It always surprises me the reaction, a lot of complements but also the abject disgust from the better than thou lental eating yummy mummy brigade.
I must admit I do enjoy annoying anyone that is holier than thou.

She my post at 02.11, wonder if she realises how many non-smokers she's annoying?

I meant to quote you, in fact, Simon Bolivar. Have had more positive comments than negative...just the negative one is bloody hypocritical!

Sounds like you're being chatted up.

I think I may finally have this CAD under control...
I was at a recent birthday party and decided to pop out for a cigar. Quite interesting as it's already been mentioned.
'A cigar, who' 's smoking that?'
I was surprised they could see me in amongst the vape cloud and fag smoke. However, it did spark some good conversations, such as
*Do people still smoke them
*Where do you buy them
*How much do they cost - that was a funny one
*Is that not expensive
*How long does it take to smoke
*How many do you smoke
*Do you just keep them in your pocket
I've also had the nose turned up and pointed at with the retort 'it's him that's smoking the cigar, yuk'
My response, jog on and leave me in peace before I loose the dog.
