When I first got into cigars not so long ago, It was basically with petit coronas RJ and Montes. Boxes of 10. I really enjoyed them and started trying different sticks.
25s of H Upmann Majestics, Fonseca Delicas and a couple mixed boxed 2s of Cuban petit robustos later. I quickly dropped the coronas in favour of the robustos. Taste, smell, size, time and overall enjoyment.
I found Late Hour robustos, AJ last Call and Monte petit Edmundos ? and over and over again have just taken me to a different place, a real sweet spot.
Now, I haven?t tried a whole lot more than above. A few samplers of both CC & NC but nothing really does it for me like the small robustos.
I know there are many, many sticks available and I will eventually get to try my fair share. What im asking is?.. in your opinions, are small robustos going to be my thing?
The best cigar I have smoked to date is the late hour robusto. At 5? its literally 1? too long for me and if the profile didnt change, i wouldnt smoke it to the end. Next is the Monte Petit Edmundo but doesn?t have the flavour or construction of the late hour but still perfect.
Its far from a dilemma and I will try more. I don?t get the time or opportunity to smoke a lot and maybe this is the wrong word, but I don?t want to ?waste? what time I have on a bitter, side burning, overwhelming or tight smoke!
I hope that I?ll look back at this post in years to come and laugh at my inexperience. However, does my current preference say anything? For example is my taste NC as petit Edmundos seem to be the one CC that hits the spot - ridiculous?
ETA: I stopped having a Whisky with a cigar when I favoured the small robustos. And find myself drooling on my keyboard looking at Davidoffs
