  • Cigars stored using boveda packs seem drier when smoked?

Hi all just a quick question I was using humidity beads with my cigars for years but got fed up recharging them so switched to boveda packs but I?ve noticed that the cigars seem drier when smoking using the boveda packs both the beads and the boveda packs where 65% rh monitored using calibrated hygrometer. Is it just me or have other people noticed this?

    thanks

I switched to using Boveda a few years back, been experimenting with both 65 and 62% and your smokes coming straight out of desktop will look and smoke dryer then around 60 to 70 RH. However cigars in there boxes still retain there 'fines' look at a lower RH.

It takes a little getting used to but trust me once your cigars are really settled in a lower RH there is no looking back! the cigars performance, burn and draw is very consistent.

I do strongly believe in the numbers Habanos suggests to smoke your cigars at, written on the warranty seal/parchment, as its proving for a far better experience........thats not to say every cigar is going to perform flawlessly (as some of you read my moan about some of the draw problems i were having last year in a thread i started) but you will gain a much higher consistency overall

How long have you had your smokes at a lower RH for?

I use 69%, brought some distilled water from ebay to re-charge them. I've been happy with them, no plans to change
