  • Cubans - persuade me

So I've tried quite a few CC but almost all so far have been disappointing flavour wise for me.
So which would you recommend for someone who likes flavoursome smokes with a bit of sweetness.
Usually go for cigars which last 1 hr as that's my usual journey to work smoke time.
Cigars must be able to be purchased now and in the ?10-?20 range.
Particularly interested in a tasty daily so closer to the ?10 mark.

    Cheers

What CCs have you tried and not enjoyed? Also it won’t help me recommend much because I don’t know NC very well but what NC do you enjoy?”

Well I'd say from the list cuban cigars aren't for you tbh. Unless you've been unfortunate to have a bad example of all the above

My thoughts to Os' Monte No2, RASCC, PLPC are classics of the Habanos brand. you could try Hoyo's, if you want lighter?

            Cuaba !

Some like the PL PC develop sweetness over many years. 5+ is the guideline.

That's probably common for many CC to be honest. The ones that will develop some sweetness can take a while...

It's a journey. The NC journey is much bigger!

Your price guideline really depends on where you can get them from.

Don't bother, stay with the NCs if you have gone through the trouble of working out what's worth smoking

There’s some really good Cubans on your list so maybe they are just not for you. Stick to what you like not what people say you should like.

Also, before you give up on them completely, it might be worth trying a few aged CCs (5+ years) if you get the chance, it could be that the ones you smoked were too young.

Yes I suspect they were too young.
I only have 1 small humidor plus I'm not patient enough to wait years for something I've bought to see if it's any good.
RASS was ok but not blown away.
To me most I've had just tasted of tobacco smoke, which isn't that exciting for my pallet.
I wanted the types of flavours described by the reviewers.

A lot of reviewers add a pinch of salt. if you want sweetness look for good NC maduros.

Ok before I give up on CC completely are there any key cigars I really must try / retry before finally admitting I'm a heathen and sticking to NC?

I would suggest to try a Partagas 898. It is the perfect format. Try and compare that to NCs, - hell its hard enough to find the format I NCs[emoji41]

I concur with our Danish friend and to that I would add a Cohiba Siglo VI and a JL2
