It's all about personal taste of course but I would add that quite a few NCs I've tried have had draw issues too in that they are rather loose, as opposed to being too tight. At least if you have one you can use the PerfecDraw on a tight cigar but I don't think they've invented a tool to put tobacco back in a wind tunnel cigar yet!
Sure, scrolling down the comments section about the article, when responding to a poster the writer alludes to things improving after regime change. I'm assuming he's US based and may have an alternative agenda. I think it's fairly obvious from what he's written he's not a fan. Or just jealous he's not able to access the vast array of perfectly decent aged Havanas that we're lucky enough to be able to get here in Europe.
I always take these articles with a pinch of salt, not necessarily because of government changes etc, but also because its in the interests of the NC cigar industry to imply CCs are a poor products, especially as things are now changing (all be it at a much slower pace it seems)
There is no doubt that CCs have a much poor QC process than NCs, but I have always found the idea thing there is a huge problem a myth, I have had plugged cigars but not that many, and IIRC the vast majority of those were from the early 2000s (when I think there was an issue)

Gotcha- thx for explaining - I couldn?t make out your point from the article, but from the comments I get you.
I?m not saying I agree with the whole article but the comparison he makes does suggest that CC?s could be improved by adopting more NC production habits.

Maybe NC could be improved by adopting more CC production methods, after all they are the ones that need to reach the higher standards that Cuba produces
Maybe I'm just lucky but I've only ever had a very small percentage of my cigars that have had real draw issues. Personally, I enjoy the flavours/aromas of the NCs I've smoked less than those of the Cuban cigars that I enjoy. Cigar moments are to be savoured so I stick with what I enjoy
I think most of the quality issues in ccs are due to Habanos trying to get as many cigars to market as possible, and so being very reluctant to discard substandard sticks. Whereas most of the high end NC producers will discard anything that is even slightly substandard. I have seen one or two videos of NC producers, and the amout they discard at various stages of production is huge.
