I usually go for whisky, cognac or rum and a beer chaser when I smoke a cigar. But I was curious to know if anyone enjoys a glass of wine with theirs and if so, what sort of wine do you think suits this?

I’ll be pairing with some Ros? this summer as I think that might work quite well too.

I love wine but I don't think it pairs well with cigars. I find the taste of red wine is really affected by smoking and white somewhat aswell. The exception is sparkling wine which I find it pairs extremely well.
I'm a big fan of gran reserva cava. Not readily available in most UK retailers but excellent value if you know where to find them.

In part I would agree in terms of cigar smoke affecting the taste - but for me personally I think as K444HEP mentions, they have to be a big bold fruity wine - like Cabalie - another one that works for me is Black Stump - which is a Durif/Shiraz

I prefer to stick to Cognac/Whisky when im smoking most of the time...unless its a morning smoke, then its coffee. During the summer when its fine outside i ocassionally have the odd real ale...or 3 when at BBQs or in pub beer gardens etc. The darker and amber coloured ales(most of them anyway) really tend to work well with cigars. Im not a wine fan so i can't comment about its suitability...doesnt matter how "good" the wine supposedly is,it all tastes like vinegar to me...maybe i should try wine with chips?[emoji57][emoji23]
