    Question...

sealed box (wine fridge) with plenty of boveda in it. Can temperature affect RH, given that boveda are chemically geared to maintain a RH of 65%? presently reading 65-67 % at temps of c.55 Fahrenheit.

I'm thinking of moving long term storage into a wineador but getting it to a 'standard' temp is a challenge despite being in an integral garage. I cant see evidence of 'cold' being detrimental, but perhaps someone has some scientific evidence? Interested in fact over opinion so I can move / not move the collection to a new home without fear of destroying lovely, and some hard to find, sticks with a move to their new home.

googling temperature brings up lots of crud about the 70/70 ideal which I think we mostly agree is opinion laced guff, that is fine if you like your smokes that way!
    Thx
    Matt

I can only provide anecdotal evidence Matt. As you know I have two Haier wine coolers each with 2lbs of Heartfelt beads in them. One is in the cabin where temperatures never fall below 5 degrees but have hit 40 degrees in the summer, the other is in my unheated garage which regularly sees an ambient humidity of 80%+ in this cold damp weather. Neither of them have strayed below 62% humidity or above 69%. As we freeze them to kill any nasties then I would have thought short periods of intense cold will do little harm.
