Most of my preferred smokes sit in the 42 to 52 ring gauge, but I also have had some great smokes, both above and below those limits

But i'm with you... robustos are where its at. I tried my first robusto some time around 1998 and immediately found it to be spot on for me!"Dear heart, you're talking to a man- a real man- who drinks straight Tequilla, with lime and salt on the rim, and smokes cigars" (J Zavala)

Most of my cigars are based around 46-52 with a few others sneaking in there now and again

i really dont mind a bigger rg, as long as its not too airy im happy. nub connecticuts are one of my favorites
i tend to choose, along with length for whatever time i have to smoke..as others have said robusto is the main man for me just perfect.

I have no real preferred ring gauge but tend to buy Robusto so around 50.
I like smaller gauges for shorter smokes but larger for longer lazy smokes.
Not a fan of the short fatties I like my cigars like my women, width in proportion to height.

I have delayed answering this question until I was able to draw up some stats on this issue (strangely something even I hadn't totalled up before!). I guessed I as I smoked across the range of RGT's & different vitola's, it would be pretty evenly averaged across the range. In 2017, the last full year I smoked RG:
26 - 28 = 7%
30 - 39 = 30%
40 - 46 = 30%
47 - 50 = 23%
52 - 57 = 10% Most of these were Piramides or Salomones.
Take that into 3 larger groups:
26 - 39 = 37% Slim
40 - 46 = 30% Med
47 - 57 = 33% LargeSimon Bolivar: Liberator of Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru & Venezuela.
