Cigar trays

Came across this in Argos online....might be a decent cigar tray..I know it's not cedar...but would that make any difference? I dont know.

Likely some form of Pine or similar. Should be ok unless you keep stuff at unusually high humidity levels.

No the scuba is set at 65.. was just an idea. Got so many fiivers thought it would be a good idea to use something's similar.

If the pine does not produce smell or resin it should be ok. The problem of using treated wood is that doesn?t absorb humidity, but sincerely in England with this humidity it may be an advantage. Personally I cannot keep the cedar humidor under 75% and the tuppers perfectly 70%. So it could work even better than cedar here

Most cutlery trays are made from beech which should be ok. I wouldn't use pine as it will give off a smell however old they are. I've cut 100+ years old pine pews that smell like they have just been planked.

I had a lucky last minute ticket to Chelsea Flower Show this year... there was a guy (based in Yorkshire) there who was making furniture (stools and chairs) from old pews and other reclaimed pine. Admittedly it was majority pitch pine, but you could smell his stand from 20-30 yards away. I confess it was a lovely scent, but not what I want my cigars to smell /taste of!
