At such an early stage of the hobby, I really would advise not to bother worrying about age. Try the Marques and vitolas that you like, age is the icing on the cake imo.

So as a newcomer, should I just enjoy what I buy for now? Is it just CC’s that get better with age, or do some Non Cubans age well too?

Most cigars change with age regardless of where they were made, some for the better, some not

...and some, not so much at all (eg, many NCs).

I would say so, yes. Then once you've found something you particularly like, either search for aged or buy a box and see how they change.

Well I have a pretty good idea what I like in both CC’s and NC’s, although I am trying several new marques based on reviews, recommendations and sheer curiosity. I don’t have a particular ageing strategy, but I will likely keep a few marques to age on both sides of the fence, some Cohiba’s, Arturo Fuente, and AB’s which are mainly Limited Editions.....but I think the best advice I take from here, is to just smoke and enjoy what I buy. Not that I need any encouragement
