  • Cigars and mosquitos

Evening or late smoking in my garden is dangerous. Got bitten 3 times last night by pesky mosquitoes. Twice through my t shirt.

At the point of buying one of those UV light zapper things. Any good?

Don't like to use citronella because I don't like the smell! And while I'm enjoying a cigar is not a nice aroma!

I've got one, they seem to carefully avoid it

Mate, i'm being eaten alive here in France. They don't seem to be put off by anything except the strongest of chemicals...a fine puro seems to encourage the little fuckers!

Well I'm braving them again tonight. I've lit some citronella tea lights because my wife had a go at me for not taking precautions .. ahem.

Let's see how I get on...

Might get a zapper anyway out of desperation.

            Brave on troopers, brave on.

Maybe you can draw some pagan symbols inside the candle circle so they can't enter?

Anybody got a fish pond in their backyard ???

always thought ... if I had a fishpond ... set up a bug zapper over the pond .
feeds the fish and gets rid of pests ... win win

DEET is the way to go! Just be thankful that for now at least you won't get malaria, although with global warming it won't be long before it's back again.

Or maybe try out the Samish technique from Northern Scandinavia: Sit in the garden naked every night for the first 2 mosquito weeks and get stung a million times. Then you should become immune after that - more or less
