  • When?s it ready?

My humidor reaches its 2 week seasoning on Wednesday this week.

    What do I do next?

Obviously I put my next Boveda packs in but when can I put sticks in it?

With 4 days to go I?m at 75% humidity and I?m planning on putting 69% packs in. Do I put my sticks in when my humidors at a steady 69 or can it be any humidity between 60 and 70??

    Thanks.

Put your sticks in when you're happy that you have a steady humidity and be prepared for it to drop a little as they also soak up humidity.

I agree 75 is a bit high....when it drops to 69 would be better..

I thought the season kit was ready when the humidity drops to 69....I might be wrong as I've never used it but that was the impression I got when I saw it a few years back

if its a steady 75... flip the packs... leave it to adjust for a while until you get a stable level... then press on!

Wait for the 2 weeks then replace the 84% with you 69%. Wait for the RH to drop to 69% in a few days and then add your cigars. Your RH will likely settle a little lower than 69%.

                    Fail Safe!

Two weeks you say. Time to up your game.

First - Ya’ gotta’ jump down, spin around, pick a bail of cotton; then, jump down, spin around, pick a bail of wool.

After that, open the lid for a few minutes or hours to let the box dry out a bit and humidity to drop below 69%. THEN, put the 69% pack in the box for a day or two and take a reading. With any luck, you’ll find your box is ready for your glorious sticks.

Give ‘er a go, chico. But don’t forget the all-important first step.
