  • Boveda packs for a newbie

Going to go with Boveda packs to season my humidor on the advice of another member.

Ive never seasoned one before so it?s all new to me.

Was recommended a 65-69 pack do I just put it in and let it do it?s job or will it need to be replaced after a few days for a fresh one?

Do I start with a higher rated one and then come down to the 65-69 pack once seasoned?

    Thanks.

Boveda One Step EZ Humidor Seasoning Packet - 84% RH https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00FWPQB..._WJsnBb1KYR9CP

Thats the seasoning pack for a wooden humidor, and then once you?ve seasoned just swap it out for a 69 pack and let it drop to the correct RH then fill away The 69 boveda will last a long time, and they can be recharged - but we?ll worry about that later!
Only the impossible is worth the effort.

I used to use the oasis style blocks to keep the humidity correct, turned to Boveda and it's like a new lease of life for me. No more daily checking the humidity, now it's weekly or even longer. Almost fit and forget.

I recently used the 84% packs to season my Germanus cube - worked a treat and I now use the normal packs to keep humidity in the humidor.

I got my packs from here - http://www.mysmokingshop.co.uk/index..._rsProdscat=19

slightly cheaper than amazon, but can't remember what the deal with delivery is.

The humidor I’ve bought is a glass top.

Just read some not so favourable reviews about glass top humidors.

          Should I be worried?

How comfortable are you with a tube of sealant...?

Not to bad. Might have to look for a food safe one

What?s wrong with that? Most of the Cohibas I enjoy come in glass-top boxes.
