True dat....or just get off the stick altogether - both puros and NCs - and you won?t need ANY of your prized accessories!

I don?t know about that, but I do know that the PerfecDraw works on both Cuban and non-Cuban cigars! WOW!

Ultimate solution is for the manufacturers to provide them precut then there will be no arguments

I enjoy the ritual with preparing and lighting a cigar

Me too. I always use my finest accessories – lighter, cutter, punch - to prepare and light my finest puros.

Doing a bit of research on why the head is closed I found these reasons

To keep the wrapper from unraveling in storage and transport
                Tradition
So as not to put some consumers off by having a cut they don't like
                To give consumers choice
Part of the marketing illusion that it's a specialist product requiring special tools
Men like hobbies where they can participate and add their touch

Some cigars do come precut but I guess no premium brand wants to break the tradition and take a risk

Suppose if your a wet smoker it doesen't help the build up of tar bit like pipe smoking a wet smoker builds up moister that goes down the stem of the pipe and evetualy down the bowl ,which in turn dampens the tobacco making hard to smoke. just my opinion.

I also agree with this, there is something nice about getting the cigar ready to smoke. Plus with any hobby/interest it’s always good to have a collection of things that all do the same thing but all slightly differently!
as someone who’s getting into cigars more and more in always looking at new cutters and lighters, even though I have perfectly fine working ones already!

though I did just recently acquire the colibri V cut and am looking forward to trying that out as I’ve only event used straight cutters before

I use V cut in the form of the X cut or cross cut on larger RG and on smaller ones just due to the practical side of things a straight cut, never had a problem with my v cut which isn't anything more special than Cgars Ltd own Straight and V cutter combo cutter works like a charm.
